Ulurwiji Empowerment Foundation

Building the independence of village women through meaningful skills, work and processes.

x
Ulur Wiji Berdaya Foundation is an empowerment initiative that grew out of Ulur Wiji's practice as a social enterprise connecting skills, sustainability, and the people behind every creation.

About Ulurwiji Berdaya Foundation

The Ulurwiji Berdaya Foundation exists as a learning and growth space for individuals and communities, especially women, who wish to develop skills, independence, and awareness of responsible production processes.

Through a practice-based approach, the Ulurwiji Berdaya Foundation accompanies participants to learn textile skills, fabric processing, and sustainability values—not just as theory, but as real-life experiences.

Our Program Focus

Textile & Batik Skills

Drawing on Ulur Wiji's expertise in textiles, we offer training in batik making, basic sewing, fabric processing, and simple, practical production for vulnerable women in the village. The hope is that these women will become more economically empowered and play a greater role in their communities and families.

Textile Upcycle & Recycling

We all know that fashion is the second-largest contributor to waste worldwide. Therefore, the Ulurwiji Berdaya Foundation is collaborating with several textile upcycling and recycling activists to provide training in utilizing leftover fabric and used uniforms into new, valuable products. This way, old uniforms from organizations, agencies, and companies can be recycled into new, more valuable products.

Sustainability Education

We also introduce the concepts of responsible production, natural dyes, and textile waste management. We also cover financial literacy and how to start a small business for women.

Mentoring & Collaboration

We accept donations from other organizations, institutions, and companies to provide program support to communities through a collaborative approach. These programs aim to provide education and knowledge, primarily to marginalized communities, enabling them to become more productive and self-sufficient.

Who is Empowered?

The target beneficiaries of the Ulurwiji Muda Berdaya Foundation are:

  • Women and local communities
  • Housewives who want to develop their skills
  • Teenagers and young generation
  • Groups with limited access to skills training

Each program is designed adaptively to the needs and context of the participants.
