Why is Ulurwiji interested in youth empowerment?. Because empowerment is more than just an employment relationship. Empowerment for us is growing together and also learning together so we and our society get the benefits and goals that we want to achieve. We hope that many young people can be empowered, learn to make batik and natural dyes until it become a clothes or the other. This circle, if all fulfilled, will create a good impact to our society and our environment. Some of impact that want to achieve is:

Economical Impact

Of course first of our activity must to have an economical empact to our artisans. With the small thing that we do, we want to increase their family income. We run Ulur Wiji with fairness principle, so with work together, our hope that our artisans more prosperous in the future.

Knowledge & Skill Impact

Young people and women will have skills in the fashion industry, starting from batik, coloring it with natural dyes, sewing and
also how to make a business. We learn and grow together, and we hope that when our craftsmen have expert skills, they can become independent and become our partners in producing eco-fashion.

Environment Impact

With the rise of eco-based fashion production, it is
expected to have a real impact on the environment. This is because there is no synthetic fashion waste that damages the environment. The remnants of the dye used can be used as fertilizer for plants, the remnants of fabric that are not used can be upcycled into other craft products and for clothes that are worn out can be recycled or buried in the soil which will be biodegradable due to organic materials.
