Liputan6.com, Jakarta Everyone probably has a story of failure and experiences the lowest phase in their life. Nasta Rofika (33), brand owner Ulur Wiji has that story. But it's not a story of failure he wants to share.

Nasta shared how she rose above feelings of self-doubt, inferiority, and insecurity. By rebranding Nasta as Ulur Wiji, Nasta aims to be a seed that continues to grow and grow stronger.

Today, Ulur Wiji is known for its urban batik products with an eco-fashion concept. For Nasta, Ulur Wiji is a channel for sharing kindness, supporting many people through the clothing business.

Nasta's unyielding spirit paid off. She was selected as one of 20 participants in the 2024 Women Ecosystem Catalyst (WEC).

From Office Worker to Fashion

Nasta started her fashion business in 2015. At the time, she was still working as an office worker. While working, Nasta attended fashion school on the weekends. Her dream was to become a female entrepreneur, not just an office worker forever.

“From 2015 to 2019 I was still working on it "Fast fashion , making anything to make money. Dresses, hijabs. My first brand was called Nasta, using my own name," said Nasta.

Shut Down

However, Nasta's products couldn't compete due to rapidly changing trends and the abundance of products with similar concepts. Finally, in 2019, he decided to shut down the Nasta brand while he reflected.

As an environmental engineering graduate, Nasta dreams of creating eco-friendly fashion products. She tried ecoprinting, but it turned out there were already many players.

Eco Fashion

Ultimately, she wanted to innovate eco-fashion products using batik. "Batik would convey my aspirations, and I added value to make it more eco-friendly by choosing natural colors. I did more research and learned about natural colors. At that time, not many people were producing products like this," Nasta said.

For a year, he devised a new concept for his product. The pandemic, a challenging time for MSMEs, actually marked the beginning of a revival for Nasta and his work. In early July 2020, Nasta launched the Ulur Wiji product.
