THE STORY

BAWANG is inspired by the Indonesian tale of Bawang Merah and Bawang Putih, exploring the idea that human nature is rarely simply good or bad. It reflects the complexity and duality within every individual.

Bawang, meaning onion, is also one of Indonesia's valued agricultural commodities that grows well across the country's fertile lands.

THE MATERIAL

Made from a Linen Cotton Blend, the fabric offers a comfortable feel for everyday wear. Its versatile character makes this vest an effortless layering piece that can complement a variety of styles.

THE CRAFT

BAWANG motif is created using hand-drawn and stamped batik techniques, with the dyeing process carefully carried out by Ulur Wiji artisans.

Every step is completed with close attention to detail, giving each piece its own distinctive character.

HOW TO WEAR

Pair it with a plain inner layer and relaxed trousers for an urban minimalist look. For a simpler styling option, wear it on its own as a blouse, with its architectural silhouette providing comfortable coverage around the sides of the body.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

For the first wash, we recommend hand washing separately. After that, the vest can be machine washed, although hand washing is still recommended to help preserve the fabric fibers.

Use a neutral or mild-pH detergent, such as baby detergent or natural soap made from lerak.

Dry in a shaded area and avoid direct sunlight.

ATTENTION

We practice handmade production and slow fashion. Standard-size orders can be processed more quickly, while deeper colors require additional time during the dyeing process.

Colors may appear slightly different depending on the lighting conditions during photography and the screen settings of each device.

As natural dyes are used, each piece has its own unique character. Color similarity is approximately 95%, and no two pieces will be exactly identical.
