THE STORY

Not every production remnant needs to become waste.

The Ulur Wiji Upcycle Obi is made from quality leftover fabrics that are carefully selected and transformed into a functional accessory with a new purpose.

A simple way to extend the life of existing textiles while reducing production waste, each obi carries traces of Ulur Wiji's batik-making process and the hands of women artisans in Pandan Krajan Village, Mojokerto.

Because it is made from reclaimed production materials, every piece has its own combination of colour, motif, and character.

THE MATERIAL

Made from reclaimed Ulur Wiji production fabrics that remain in good condition and are suitable for reuse.

Giving these materials a new life is part of Ulur Wiji's approach to a more conscious production process and reducing unused textile waste.

THE CRAFT

Each obi is made from reclaimed fabric and reworked by women artisans in Pandan Krajan Village, Mojokerto.

The fabrics may feature details from Batik Tulis (Hand-Drawn Batik) and Batik Cap (Hand-Stamped Batik), giving each obi its own distinctive motif and colour character.

As the material comes from production remnants, each piece has a unique combination and may not be reproduced in exactly the same appearance.

HOW TO WEAR

Wrap the obi around the waist to add structure to a dress, kebaya, outer layer, or oversized top.

Use it as an accent to define the silhouette while adding an artisanal touch to a minimalist look.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

• For the first wash, hand wash separately. A washing machine may be used afterwards, but hand washing is recommended to help preserve the fabric fibres.
• Use a neutral or near-neutral pH detergent, such as mild baby soap, gentle dish soap, or natural lerak solution.
• Dry in the shade and avoid direct sunlight.

We embrace a handmade and slow-fashion process, so every piece is made with attention to detail and may have its own individual character.

Colour may appear slightly different from the product shown due to photography lighting and individual screen settings.

Because this product uses reclaimed materials and natural dyeing processes, each piece is inherently unique. Colour similarity is approximately 95% and cannot be guaranteed to be exactly identical to the product shown.
